Summary: We've known more than a couple of horror movies that involve the terror produced by a mysterious box. But to be honest, folks like Pandora were showing us a long time ago that small packages can contain big problems. And here, we see yet another calamity within small confines. But none of it will stay small for long...

History: For generations, there has been a special metal box passed around. It was in fact a magical weapon/prison, said to hold within it a fallen God of evil. Anyone with the box would be helpless as the monstrous God, now said to be a gremlin, slaughtered all their loved ones until the timer on the box ran out. The only way to stop it all was to either wait and see what the end of the timer entailed, or, as almost everyone did, pass it on to someone they loved. Now, the box has ended up in a modern family, and the little gremlin is ready to kill and kill again.

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: Eventually, the surviving members of the family decide to just wait to see what happens when the timer runs out. It turns out to be a monumentally bad idea, as the gremlin grows into a giant monster. This is the old God at its prime. However, the timer is reset, and the monster is forced to retreat into the box and be tiny again. Now, the passing must commence once more.

Powers/Abilities: The gremlin cannot be killed. Even a fatal wound will just put it back in the box to regenerate. Also, should the timer run out, it will regain its old strength and size.

Weakness: Resetting the timer forces it back in the box for a long time.

Scariness Factor: 3-The concept is very disturbing. Imagine having to give a box containing a murderous false deity to someone you care about just so you don't unleash Hell. That cannot be good for the soul. However, the low-grade CGI prevents an otherwise strange and powerful creature like this from truly taking off.

Trivia: -The cartoon that the kid watches is "Big Magic Book". It was one of director Ryan Bellgardt's first ever works. In fact, Ryan seems to like doing works for children more than horror movies.

-As mentioned above, Pandora’s Box was an incredibly awful thing. In Greek Mythology, it was a wedding gift from Zeus, who saw humanity as a bit too carefree for his liking, especially after Prometheus gave them fire. When the first mortal woman, Pandora, opened it out of curiosity, it released all of mankind’s misfortunes, though most interpretations add how it also released a small bit of hope to lighten the punishment.

It's not fun. It's not wacky. It's just terror.

"What the?! I just got out of here!"

From the creators of "Elf on a Shelf", "Destroyer on a Shoulder"!.
Should have rented the Banshee Box instead.

"Crap! I'm afraid of heights!"

"Sleep tight forever, pops!"

Quick! Use sunli-wait. I mean, water? No wait! That's worse!

The only being that can use the 'Climb through grates' cliche and make it work.
